What is
Supported Independent Living (SIL)?

Supported Independent Living (SIL) provides assistance with daily living so people can live safely and as independently as possible at home. As a Registered NDIS Provider, Our House Support delivers evidence-based, person-centred SIL across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. Our practice aligns with the NDIS Practice Standards, Safeguards and Code of Conduct, with trained and screened workers, robust clinical governance, and clear incident and risk management processes. We partner with participants, families and clinicians to design a roster of care that reflects the goals and preferences of those we are privileged to support.

Daily Living & Personal Support

Professional support for personal care, mealtime assistance, medication prompts, domestic tasks and daily routines. Our workers promote dignity, choice and control while maintaining safety and quality consistent with the NDIS Practice Standards.

Independence & Community Participation

Goal-focused coaching to build living skills—cooking, budgeting, travel training, household management—and support to engage in work, study and social activities. Plans are co-designed and reviewed regularly to demonstrate outcomes and continuous improvement.

Health, Safety & Positive Behaviour Support

Coordination of health appointments, medication support within scope, risk mitigation and calm, predictable home environments. Where restrictive practices are required, we follow authorisation requirements and implement least-restrictive strategies under an approved Behaviour Support Plan. Our focus is safeguarding rights, wellbeing and quality of life.
